The 11th annual A Brew with a View brought a picture-perfect summer afternoon to Steele Hill Resort on Saturday, July 11. Guests enjoyed sunny skies, scenic Lakes Region views and a wide variety of craft beer, cider, hard seltzer and spirits, with the Freddy Partridge Band providing an energetic live soundtrack throughout the event. VIP guests began tasting an hour early and received branded bags filled with colorful cowboy hats, custom wooden bottle openers, can koozies, refrigerator magnets, Steele Hill premium amenity coupons and pretzel necklaces. Throughout the afternoon, guests played cornhole and giant Connect Four, posed for souvenir photo strips and tried their luck at the door prize drawings for insulated coolers, golf bags, Vantage Day Spa and Steele Hill Adventure Center gift certificates and Path Resorts gift cards. Rock the Bike added an interactive twist, inviting attendees to pedal a stationary bike and blend their own drinks.

Attendees once again used voting beads to recognize their favorite beverage vendors. Each vendor brought multiple selections to sample, giving guests the opportunity to compare different styles, flavors and seasonal offerings throughout the afternoon. Battery Steele Brewing earned first place with 64 votes, followed by Downeast Cider with 29 votes. Third place resulted in a four-way tie between Tuckerman Brewing Company, Concord Craft Brewing Company, 603 Brewery and Able Ebenezer Brewing Company all with 25 votes each. Thank you to all of our participating vendors for bringing such an extensive and diverse beverage lineup for guests to enjoy!

The charity keg toss and mechanical bull competitions brought plenty of excitement while raising money for the Greater Lakes Region Children’s Fund. Maghon successfully defended her women’s keg toss title with an impressive distance of 40 feet, while Steve became this year’s new men’s champion with a throw of 24 feet, 8 inches. Returning champion Ashley held onto the women’s competitive mechanical bull title with a 25-second ride and Justin defended the men’s championship with a winning time of 24 seconds. Together, the keg toss, mechanical bull rides, 50/50 raffle and additional donations raised $1,727 for the Greater Lakes Region Children’s Fund. That total included a generous $300 check donation. We are grateful to everyone who participated, donated, purchased raffle tickets or helped encourage the competitors. Every contribution helped support children and families throughout the Lakes Region.
