On the picturesque grounds of Steele Hill Resort, the much-loved “A Brew with a View” beerfest returned for its 9th year on Saturday, July 13th. With a great turnout of over 200 guests and 35 vendors, the event continued its tradition of uniting craft beer lovers and casual drinkers alike overlooking the beautiful views of the Lakes Region.

The festival atmosphere was electric, where guests enjoyed a diverse array of beverages from some of the top craft breweries and cideries in the region. With attendees exploring the flavors on offer, the competition for the best brewery was fierce. After a lively session of tasting and voting, Blaze Brewing Company emerged as the crowd favorite with 66 votes, followed by Spyglass Brewing Company with 48 votes and Henniker Brewing Company rounding out the top three with 43 votes.

The air was filled with the melodious sounds of Jack Ancora, whose live performance set the perfect backdrop for an afternoon of leisure and enjoyment. The brewfest wasn’t just about the beer, ciders and spirits; guests also engaged in friendly rounds of cornhole and Kan Jam, adding a competitive twist to the festivities. In addition to craft beer tastings and lawn games, the festival also supported a noble cause. The Greater Lakes Region Children’s Auction made its third consecutive appearance, hosting the popular keg toss competition and a 50/50 raffle. The keg toss saw impressive throws, with Greg setting a mark of 27 feet in the men’s category and Mahgon leading the women’s with a throw of 32 feet. The 50/50 raffle winner walked away with $428, while the auction raised a commendable total of $992, with all proceeds benefiting local children and families.

As the day concluded, event goers left with smiles, new friendships and great memories. The success of this year’s event has set high expectations for next year’s milestone—the 10th annual Brew with a View. Scheduled for Saturday, July 12th, we anticipate an even grander celebration, filled with more unique beverages, engaging games and community spirit! Attendees could also participate in a 50/50 raffle knowing that their contributions were going to a good cause.

There was prize giveaway where attendees had the opportunity to win some incredible prizes, including a vacation gift card and Steele Hill Adventure certificate. Catering to the hungry crowd, there was an array of food options available, with hot dogs, burgers, tacos, and large pretzels being some of the staples. Our VIP guests enjoyed an extra hour at the start of the event, special swag bags, and delightful hors d’oeuvres that complemented their beer tasting experience.

This was a sellout year for the 7th annual brewfest, with many attendees either staying overnight with the A Brew With A View Getaway promotional package or purchasing their tickets weeks to months in advance, counting down the days until the big event. Once the clock hit 4pm on the big day, VIP guests began their tastings sporting their new drawstring sport packs, rainbow lensed sunglasses and the beer tasting essential, pretzel necklaces from the exclusive SWAG bag. The Greater Lakes Region Children’s Auction also joined in on the fun this year by hosting a 50/50 raffle and our first annual Keg Toss competition, raising a total of nearly $1,200 to be donated to local families in need!  Event goers got to test their strength by seeing how far they could hurl a keg with all proceeds benefiting the children and families of the Lakes Region. There was a men’s and women’s division where the furthest throw in each category was awarded a $150 Path Resorts gift Card. The women’s winner was Nicole Carr who was able to launch the keg a distance of 36.5 feet. In the men’s division, Mike Kent was able to take the gold with a throw of 28 feet exactly. Congrats to both of our Keg Toss winners and all competitors who went out to show their strength while donating to a great cause.

New Hampshire’s Governor has recently announced that, beginning on May 7th, all state guidelines will transition from Universal Guidelines to Universal Best Practices allowing us to slightly alter our plans for our 6th annual Brew with a View beerfest event. We will continue to prioritize the health and safety of our guests, owners and team members as we host a safe and exciting event this summer. • Facial coverings will not be required, however recommended while not in the act of tasting
• We will be recording all guest’s contact information prior to checking into the event

Our priority at Steele Hill Resorts is to ensure the safety and health of our employees, guests and owners. • We have expanded the event venue to provide plenty of room for social distancing. There will also be signage stating social distancing rules and max occupancy that must be adhered to
  • We will be recording all guest’s contact information upon checking into the event
  • Each party will be seated at designated tables
  • Facial coverings will be required when not sitting at your table
  • All employees and brewery vendors will be required to stay home if they are not feeling well and we will also be taking and recording employee temperatures prior to the start of the event. We ask that attendees also stay home if they are not feeling well or have any symptoms of COVID-19.

A Brew with a View 2016

ByonwithComments Off on A Brew with a View 2016

2016 was a great year for the Brewfest at Steele Hill. As the rain descended over Steele Hill Resorts, organizers feared the worst. Attendees, however, had another idea. What better activity than flock to the local brewfest to shake off the bad weather? People came in masses and attendance almost doubled over the first year’s crowd. As the large event tent filled with warm bodies and the bodies filled with delicious microbrews a sense of comradery and purpose descended over the crowd. People were set to enjoy themselves rain or shine and the closer quarters actually made for a friendlier more engaging crowd. Who would have thought beer fans were so resilient and awesome to hang out with.
